About me

I received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the City University of Hong Kong (CityU), under supervision of Rynson Lau and Antoni Chan. I obtained the B.Eng. and M.Sc. in Software Engineering from Northeastern University (China). I was a full-time intern at Microsoft Research Aisa (MSRA) in Beijing from Nov. 2007 to Mar. 2008. I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Computer Science at the CityU in 2015.

Research

My primary research interest is Data-driven Graphic Design. My research aims to answer a challenging question: how computer can learn to design from data ? I am particularly interested in developing machine/deep learning models and algorithms to infer and describe the structure, style, semantics and functionality of graphic designs, and build AI systems to facilitate graphic design tasks (e.g., graphic design generation, editing, exploration and consumption).
